Other RequirementsMember of Zambia Institute of Certified Accountants (ZICA) and in good standing
Requirements
  • Collaborate with the CEO to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational objectives
  • Ensure financial benchmarks and targets are in line with Clarkson’s standards and effectively communicated across all business lines
  • Lead the budget process, ensuring budgets reflect strategic initiatives and support business goals
  • Support strategic decision-making by providing financial expertise and insights
  • Coordinate the investment strategy to optimize returns
  • Cultivate relationships with banks, financial institutions, and others to optimize financial partnerships and enhance the company's reputation
  • Ensure timely implementation of new accounting standards and minimize impacts through detailed analysis
  • Ensure the integrity of internal financial systems and monitoring compliance with all systems controls
  • Manage the overall accounting and recording of all company transactions and ensure complete records are available and kept in order.
  • Ensure payments are done in accordance with local tax requirements.
  • Review all payments for procurement for goods, services have adequate documentation, approvals are present, and the spending is in line with finance and administration policy
  • Review weekly and monthly bank and petty cash reconciliations reports and ensure they are done timely
  • Set and evaluate targets to motivate the finance department and ensure performance management and budget targets are met
  • Coordinate with Internal Audit to ensure transparent review of audit findings and timely resolution
  • Oversee external auditors in collaboration with respective senior management
  • Enhance utilization of financial and management information systems to support reporting and decision-making
  • Advise the CEO on financial matters impacting the organisation
  • Ensure timely delivery of reports required by regulatory and industry bodies.
  • Establish and maintain financial business plans, monitoring variances and implementing corrective measures
  • Oversee delivery of annual audited financial statements and reports, analyzing financial data against plan and industry performance
  • Stay updated on finance-related regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and internal policies within the insurance industry
  • Establish mitigation measures against emerging business risks and implement effective risk management strategies
  • Maintain internal controls to mitigate operational, financial, and regulatory risks
  • Provide leadership to meet stakeholder expectations
  • Lead and guide the finance and admin team to deliver on strategy and objectives
  • Foster a corporate culture of ethical practices in line with the Group's values.
