Job Presentation
The Field Production Executive will play a pivotal role in overseeing field operations for the production and propagation of plant genetics, including crops and seeds used for research and breeding. The position is responsible for meeting targeted volumes of hybrid seed for both domestic and export markets, in line with the business plan, ensuring that production meets the required quantity, quality, and delivery timelines.

Skills ToExcellent planning, analytical, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
Ability ToCollect, analyze, and interpret field production data to support decision-making.

Requirements
  • Recruitment of suitable growers to ensure the implementation of the production plan. Identify and explore alternate locations for each crop and achieve targeted area required for production and prepare budget and monitor compliance with approved budget
  • Keep the farmers, lease, and supervisor agreements ready with the tentative grower list. Indent for parent seed, procure, distribute, sign the agreements, provide the growers list within fifteen days of sowing the female line.
  • Reconcile the parent seed indented, drawn, issued, and consumed within 2 months of sowing female
  • Follow up the crop growth, health and propose the fund requirement plan for payments as per the expected arrival schedule. Ensure good agronomic activities such as weed control; insects, disease and pest control to for high quality and no rejection by the regulator
  • Ensure rogueing is timely and effectively done by use of descriptors to ensure high seed quality
  • Monitor field activities to ensure acceptance and delivery of quality seed through adequate quality assurance system in production. Plan field visits, field quality inspections, (detasseling in corn), timely rogueing by use of descriptors and related activities
  • Keep the management update on the production dynamics and impact on business due to supplies, either surplus or shortage beyond tolerable limits
  • Coordinate with Parent seed - seed conditioning - quality functions for effective deployment of production plans in alignment with SAP initiatives
  • Collect production data in regard to flowering and silking timings to be used in the production of single crosses
  • Plan and provide the logistics support required and gunny bag requirement, cob drying facility arrangements to concerned Departments. Ensure that the crop is harvested at the right moisture content and checking for insect damage.
  • Liaise with regulators and testing stations to provide independent certification with respect to FS quality parameters and assure required documentation is issued
  • Maintain good relationship with growers through good dispute handling procedure
  • Ensure safety and security of germplasm through appropriate control and monitoring systems
  • Ensure only the quality cleared lots are issued in right lot numbers and full quantities for processing. Check packaging quality for conformance with quality and statutory stipulations.
