A global humanitarian development organization is seeking to recruit for the position of Accounting Manager to be responsible for supervising the development and implementation of an appropriate financial management framework to support the vision and mission of the organization. This includes contributing to critical organizational decisions, coordinating annual budget planning with key staff, and ensuring efficient resource management through accounting, budgeting, cash management, financial reporting, and internal control.

Requirements
- Champions and ensures that organizational and Global Accounting strategies, guidelines and plans as well as the “CI Framework” are executed in the Agency and meet performance expectations, with highest priority given to fully executing the Child Path Model.
- Supports the annual program operations planning and facilitates the annual budget process with the Agency Director and other department heads for compilation and consolidation
- Ensures all accounting and financial activities are processed and released timely, in line with internal policies, guidelines, and approved budget, while verifying supporting documentation to confirm legitimate expenditures.
- Coordinates with department heads for savings and submits idle fund requests for fund utilization
- Manages and maintains the accounting system and initiate reporting of issues encountered
- Collaborates with Agency Director and Talent Growth Department in preparing the annual salary chart according to approved increases and local context as well as maintain and update the staff salary/compensation and benefits sheet. Review payroll accuracy, release salaries and benefits, ensure timely processing of statutory payouts to avoid penalties.
- Establishes and monitors a strong internal control system to safeguard organizational assets and prevent fraud. Develops, updates, and implements accounting management systems, policies, and procedures, while regularly monitoring their correct application
- Oversees the application of key controls as stated in the Field Manual and ensures compliance with internal financial guidelines as well as all relevant local and national laws, including banking regulations, income tax, social security, and labor laws.
- Facilitates financial audits as needed by Children International HQ as well local statutory audits, design and supervise the agency’s internal audit program, and lead the resolution of audit observations in coordination with the Agency Director and Department Heads
- Performs detailed reviews and analysis of financial plans and budget tracking for new and ongoing programs, advising on their financial feasibility and adequacy. Ensures expenditures are within Budget, notifying the Agency Director in case of discrepancies
- Oversees the preparation and timely submission of accurate financial reports, including but not limited to, monthly budget vs actual expense report/ variance report, cash balance position, bank reconciliation, idle fund, annual committed funds and annual closure of accounts to Agency Director and other key staff.
- Submits accurate and appropriate financial statements and reports to various stakeholders – Department Heads, Agency Director, Regional/Global Finance, Public and Governmental Institutions, Board of Trustees, etc. This includes a critical assessment, reflection as well as recommendations for improvements which support in making strategic decisions
